HMD Global is a market leader in push-button telephones. At IFA 2019, the manufacturer showed Nokia 110, Nokia 2720 Flip and Nokia 800 Tough with KaiOS on board, and now it is working on another “dialer”, but with Android.
What is known
XDA-Developers reporters got a video demonstrating the prototype of the device. The novelty runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. The interface is similar to that of smartphones and it is optimized for a small screen. The firmware has a desktop, a menu with programs, a section with updating the OS, as well as pre-installed proprietary Google applications. For example, Google Assistant voice assistant, Google Maps, Google Chrome browser, and even YouTube.
Unfortunately, there are no characteristics and information when such a device enters the market. Perhaps the phone will remain a prototype.
